Why this crossing? A long-distance passage puts every system to the test. Sailing from Gibraltar to Antigua allows the crew to monitor real efficiency over thousands of nautical miles.
It also shows how the Silent 62 “100%” responds to changing conditions, from energy production to speed, battery use and silent navigation. It’s not about racing across the Atlantic. It’s about crossing with the highest possible efficiency, minimal generator use and minimal fuel consumption.
As a pioneer in clean electric propulsion, Silent Yachts was the first shipyard to prove that an electric yacht could cross an ocean.
In 2018, the Silent 64 became the world’s first serially produced solar-powered catamaran to complete an Atlantic crossing. With this new voyage, the goal is once again to demonstrate the efficiency, comfort, reliability and independence of our yachts.
Transparency is also a key part of this project. Throughout the crossing, the crew will share solar gain, energy use and daily insights, offering a clear and honest view of how the systems perform offshore. Anyone following the journey can see the real data behind the voyage. The purpose is simple: gather data, share them openly and show what long-range electric navigation can achieve today.
