THE SMART TECHNOLOGY BEHIND SOLAR-POWERED CRUISING

Those of you who already know us are quite familiar with the idea of a yacht powered by sunlight: silent, emission-free, and completely self-sufficient. But how does it actually work? What makes a Silent yacht able to travel the oceans without noise, fumes or vibrations?

At the technological heart of every Silent yacht there are four key components that make solar-electric propulsion possible:

Solar panels
We employ the most efficient modules available, positioning them to capture the most solar energy possible.

Batteries
Our water-cooled LFP batteries power both propulsion and household systems, with intelligent safety systems that ensure maximum reliability.

Electric motors
Our motors are compact, efficient and emission-free. Thanks to few moving parts, they require minimal maintenance.

Range extender
The range extender recharges the batteries when the sun isn’t out. It never powers propulsion directly, so the yacht remains fully electric while navigating.

To keep your yacht up-to-date and performing at its best all the time, each of these components can be replaced or upgraded separately.

ABOUT THE SILENT 62

The Silent 62 blends sustainable technology with high onboard comfort. At 18.89 meters, it offers a balanced combination of autonomy, performance and effortless cruising. The model is available in three versions: 2-Deck, 3-Deck Open and 3-Deck Closed.

Like all Silent yachts, the SY62 delivers near-zero-emission navigation, quiet and smooth, with no fumes or vibrations. It is engineered for long stays on board, low maintenance and maximum freedom on the water.

In 2024, the Silent 62 received the “Most Efficient Yacht” award at the World Yachts Trophies.

THE SILENT 62 “100%”

“100%” IS A SILENT 62 3-DECK OPEN: A LONG-RANGE SOLAR-ELECTRIC CATAMARAN DESIGNED FOR INDEPENDENCE AND COMFORT.

The three-deck layout features generous interior volume and an upper level with nearly 360° panoramic views.

The open flybridge adds wide outdoor areas and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the breeze and the scenery throughout the journey.

During the Atlantic crossing, “100%” will rely primarily on her renewable energy systems, supported when needed by the backup generators to ensure autonomy in cloudy or low-sunlight conditions.

Behind this voyage are two Silent Yachts owners passionate about next-generation technologies: Rebecca and Jay, from the United States.

MEET REBECCA AND JAY, THE OWNERS OF “100%”

Rebecca and Jay have always loved boating, and switching to solar-electric cruising felt like a natural next step. From the quiet navigation to the advanced technology on board, their Silent 62 3-Deck Open gives them a new way to enjoy the sea.

“The technological side of the boat was really the main driver for purchasing a Silent yacht. I think that the ability to run on solar power and enjoy the surroundings quietly is really intriguing.” — Jay

Their mindset reflects that of many Silent Yachts owners: curious, forward-thinking and drawn to a more independent way of navigating, without compromising on comfort.

In this short video, they talk about what convinced them to choose a Silent yacht and their plans for future journeys, including bringing the boat across the Atlantic: a dream finally come true.
