From Gibraltar to Lanzarote: Life on Board

  1. If I see this right, you use 30 kW for the motors, but produce only about 30 kWh on a cloudy day. This means, the produced energy is only good for about 1 h of sailing. This seems to me quite bad. I thought you could do without using the generator. But according to the numbers, this is absolutely impossible.
Please elaborate a bit more about this in a future video.

Btw, I would be interested in such a yacht, but only if the numbers are not that bad.

    • The sun only shines during the day and we don’t control the weather, our solar data is shown each day on our website and ranges from 30 kWh to 55 kWh at the moment.
To run on solar alone, we would need over 600 solar panels on board; we have space for just 42.
Consider how most people use our yachts and cruise for a few hours every day, and not embark on a 4-week continuous voyage across the Atlantic.
There is no other 60 foot motor driven vessel that will cross an ocean using less fuel.
