Disappointed to have some issues with the kite sensor.

Hi there!! First CONGRATULATIONS FOR BEING LIVING THAT GREAT ADVENTURE!! I’m planning to get and 80 3 deck closed to travel around the world with my family.. I mean, to live aboard.. and I want to take an idea about the behavior of the yacht on big waves and I hope to use the kite always if the wind is present so:
1. What is the wave size that 62 can support? And what is the expected behavior of my 80?
2. What was exactly the issue with the kite? And what is missing to be a reliable propulsion system?
Thanks!! I’ll keep an eye on you lol
Hi Santiago
Thanks for your questions. The Silent 62 and Silent 80 are both CE Category A, which is suitable for seas greater than 4m and 40 knots of wind.
The kite worked really well once flying, but we experienced some issues with sensors that had failed or needed some software updates. We are awaiting feedback from the manufacturer.
We look forward to helping you with the design and purchase of your Silent 80.
Thanks
Thank you so much for your response and yes.. I CAN`T WAIT TO START THE PURCHASE PROCESS!!! Have a very nice journey!!
Great question regarding the kite system to have a reliable version. Somehow I feel that the silent yachts team have a solution after this great journey with all the possible challenges faced and facing further.
It’s awesome to follow you guys on your unique journey and further great success and fun👍👍👍👍
Thanks, Walter. The team at Silent Yachts aimed to demonstrate the capabilities of our yachts as economical ocean cruisers. We have always pushed the boundaries of technology and have been striving to make our yachts better. The kite worked well; we just need to have the ability to test it further and learn how to improve it.
